What is functional training?

The definition of Functional Training indicates certain exercises that bring improvement in a person’s ability to complete their daily actions easily or to gain a particular goal without any harm. It emerged from rehabilitation and later developed by the physical therapists.

It has also another terms which are known as functional fitness or functional movement.

 Functional fitness includes exercises to train your muscles to function together and make them ready for day-to-day activities such as works at home, at a job or in sports. It mostly focuses on the training of core muscle of the abdomen and lower back.

Functional fitness teaches exercises that help you with daily activities, like

  1. Getting up
  2. Carrying heavy objects such as household stuffs, groceries, etc. Also carrying your small kids.
  3. Lifting objects up to place on a cupboard. 
  4. Climbing stairs. 
  5. Walking. 
  6. Doing different household chores such as cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, preparing meals etc. 
  7. Playing an outdoor game with your peers. 
  8. Pulling or pushing hefty articles.
